With our understanding of the sensitivity of human nature, we should not be attempting to hurt one another, directly or indirectly, and that begins by learning to not hurt oneself.
We are not to disturb each other's peace. Animals only provoke when hungry, but humans, because of our complexities, have evolved to find "joy" in others' pain—all for the same core reason: lack of inner work.
It sounds far-fetched, but I genuinely believe it all starts with expanding the mind and not living like a robot.
Learning from History
Slavery was once a reality that lasted for over 400 years, and now we see how pointless it all was—humans creating immense pain for one another for literally no legitimate reason.
We created this societal suffering because of our ignorance, greed, gullibility, passivity, and inability to see and focus on the root problem: the mind and soul, where everything manifests from.
We need to align ourselves with our own inner light, and although it's not a linear process, we need to be made aware that all we are looking for are feelings already existing within us.
